  • Naaya Event Regional CHM Workshop

    Belgrade will be host of Regional Workshop for Central and Eastern Europe and Western Asia on the Clearing-House Mechanism 4-8 April 2016. It is expected the presence of more than 20 delegats and CHM experts. Secretariat of CBD will present relevant elements of the proposed work programme of the CHM in support of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020. Spetial attention will be devoted to CHM goal 2, which indicates that national CHM should provide effective information services to facilitate the implementation of the national biodiversity strategies and action plans.

  • Naaya Event International cooperation NATURA 2000

    Office for European Integration of Serbia and the Embassy of the Republic of Hungary, have organized a seminar on Natura 2000, on 19th and 20th March 2012. The seminar was organized on the basis of the Annual Plan of Cooperation and the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the European Integration Office and the Embassy of the Republic of Hungary, and was selected in accordance with training needs assessment conducted by the Office for European Integration once a year using a questionnaire which was sent to members of the subgroup of the coordinating body for Serbia's EU accession process.


6th National report to the Convention on Biological Diversity


Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, administrative authority for monitoring the implementation of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), has signed the agreement on the implementation of the regional project "Support to Eligible Parties to Produce the Sixth National Report to the CBD" funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

UNEP office in Nairobi is an implementation agency and the Serbian Environmental Protection Agency is the executive agency of this project in Serbia.

The sixth national reports to the CBD will provide key sources of information from which final progress towards the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 can be reviewed.  The project will also support Parties to assess each national target using a stakeholder consultation process.

The Environmental Protection Agency of the Republic of Serbia is coordinating the drafting of the 6th National Report on the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity. The structure of the report with the strategic objectives and measures in accordance with the draft Strategy for Nature Conservation, is presented in section 6.

The Environmental Protection Agency of the Republic of Serbia invites all institutions, organizations and individuals to actively participate in the preparation of the 6th National Report.

Serbian Biodiversity Portal

The Serbian Biodiversity Portal is a part of the global information exchange network established by
the Convention on Biodiversity (Clearing House Mechanism - CHM). Its purpose is to offer directly or
provide links to the information on biodiversity.

CHM portal participates in the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity in Serbia. Article 18 of the Convention provide for the establishment CHM portal as a network which promotes scientific and technical cooperation between institutions, organizations and individuals involved in the research or the protection of biodiversity. At the same time, this network helps decision-makers, more efficient funding, better coordination, information sharing and technology transfer.
