Protection and conservation of biodiversity in Serbia
Protection of rare and endangered species and their habitats, ground to a halt in the decline rate of biodiversity in Serbia. Legal is regulated by the Environmental Protection ("Official Gazette of RS" no. 36/2009, 88/2010 and 91/2010-ispravka), Rules on the criteria for allocation of habitat types, the types of habitats, sensitive, vulnerable, rare and protection priority habitat types and measures for their protection ("Official Gazette of RS", no. 35/2010), Regulations on the declaration and protection of strictly protected and protected wild species of plants, animals and fungi ("Official Gazette of RS" no. 5 / 2010) , the Regulation on cross-border traffic and trade in protected species ("Official Gazette of RS" no. 99/2009) and Decree on putting under control the use and trade of wild flora and fauna ("Official Gazette of RS", no. 31/05, 45 / 05 - correction, 22/07, 38/08 and 9 / 10). In addition to the application of national legislation, protection and conservation of biodiversity provides the application of international conventions signed by our country:
Convention on Biological Diversity
Ramsar Convention - Convention on Wetlands that are of International Importance Especially as Waterfowl Habitat.
CITES Convention - Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora
Bern Convention - Convention on the conservation of wild flora and fauna and natural habitats of Europe
Bonn Convention - Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals

Adopted international principles and national goals for biodiversity conservation of Serbia, established with the adoption of biodiversity Strategy of Serbia for the period from 2011. By 2018. Year.
Protected natural areas are:
1) protected areas (strict nature reserve, nature reserve, national park, natural monument, a protected habitat, a landscape of outstanding features, nature park);
2) protected species (strictly protected wild species, endangered wild species);
3) mobile nature protected document.
